IT is a compound function in Model 1, created by the combined activity of Fi->Te or "Fi in service to Te." IT has the same general attitudes as Ti (I+T), but is coming from Fi-Te's metabolism. IT is the sub-primary function of the FiNe and FiSe types and is present in all Gamma and Delta types.

The IT compound is produced when Fi's essentialism, as a Ji function, is directed towards Te's objective & abiotic causality. What results is a highly principle-based concept of objective abiotic processes, such as those investigated in formal logic, physics and mechanical laws. The essential nature of Fi is used to evaluate the principles of mechanical causality, and to produce from it a crystalline conceptual formulation of those causal relationships. Rather than standalone Te producing a mechanical awareness of the world, such as through engineering or economics, in IT the person turns toward understanding the root principles of abiotic procedures themselves, as a system of contingencies. This differs from Ti proper, in that Ti is non-procedural in its essential registration of platonic principles, and arrives at them through a gestalt, monistic palate.
Behavioral Differences between IT and Ti
The following are behaviors commonly manifested by Fi in service to Te.
IT: Principles of Abiotic Procedures
When Fi is put in service to examining Te, the abiotic attitude of Te is retained, not Fi's biotic attitude. Thus, only Ji metabolism is added to the mixture, giving us an essentialist investigation of the mechanical procedures of Te. The IT user may turn towards investigating the philosophy of mathematics, theoretical physics, and the rules of formal logic. Yet for them, all of these remain causal systems comprised of dynamic contingencies between conceptual objects; a realm of if-then-else operations which are constrained by conditionality and rules. The Ti process, by contrast, is wholly non-procedural. It does not hold itself accountable to cause and effect relationships, nor is it systemic (Je) in its formulation of logic. The Ti process is by itself perpendicular to formal logic. Being a Ji process, it operates by gestalting towards answers in a way that is decontextualized. Ti is an idiosyncratic process that privately evaluates the internal consistency of an abiotic object via a subjective metric that is not dependent on object-relations. It is not explicit (e) or objectively formatted (Je) and thus not beholden to ‘rules of operation’. IT, on the other hand, is still composed in relation to an objective (object-relations-contingent) system, and deduces within that system towards its conclusions and what is correct.
Due to Ji's monistic caliber, correctness, for Ti, is more appropriately described as the registration of an abiotic object as having a high monoistic value. This registration of monoistic value follows directly from the spontaneous activity of Ji alone, absent of any system of deduction or relationships to other objects in a deductive sequence. This results in Ti’s insights being far more unavailable to the objective world, and based on an internal registration of static object coherence from the "a prior" of Ji‘s mono function. IT, on the other hand, is explicitly formulated and is made of deductions that are linear and traceable.
